Barwon Estuary Project

Barwon Estuary Project is a volunteer community-education group that is focussed on the natural habitats of the estuary.

We use a variety of teaching/learning methodologies to cater for the wide diversity of interests and talents amongst our resident community, our school and the large tourist cohort.

Many of our activities use art, photography and creative writing, as well as science, to help deepen the environmental understanding of participants. Currently, our 2 key projects are Plastic Free Barwon Heads and a Ramsar signage project in Barwon Heads that involves local participants in creating the content for creative interpretive signs along the Barwon Estuary.
